Blood Flower
Asclepias curassavica
Description
Blood flower is a beautiful plant that blooms all summer with orange red and yellow flowers. Being a milkweed it is a favorite of Monarchs and other butterflies. In its native habitats it is a perennial sub shrub and flowers nearly year round. In zone 9 and under treat as annual or save your seeds for new plants the following year. 'Silky Gold' is an all yellow variety. Grow in saturated soil or regular water.
