Urban legend has it that Mormon settlers brought this apricot from China to the United States, thus its name. This variety is juicy with a sweet, mild flavor, making it ideal for baking, canning, drying, or fresh eating. Self-pollinating, rounded growth habit. May produce fruit in its 2nd year, with a substantial harvest by years 3 -5. Frost-sensitive.
