Dogwood, Bailey's Red Twig

CORNUS SERICEA `BAILEYI`

Description

Bailey's Red Twig Dogwood is a woody shrub, and it may be hard to pick which season this plant looks the most stunning. Small, star-shaped flowers grow in 2-inch clusters that emerge in the spring. By summer, the flowers are replaced with tiny white berries. The broad dark green leaves come to a point and provide a lovely contrast against the flowers and fruit. By autumn, the foliage turns a red-purple color. When the leaves drop in the winter, the branches turn bright red.
