Goldenrain Tree

Koelreuteria paniculata

Description

'Goldenrain' Trees are a great choice for challenging soil conditions as these trees can tolerate a wide variety of conditions, including drought (once established). The foliage is greenish-blue when mature, but emerges with a burgundy hue. The foot long stems of bright yellow flowers will start to come on in mid summer, leaving an interesting lantern-like seed pod when they finish blooming.

A beautiful choice for seasonal interest with the changing colors and textures throughout the growing season.

These are trees that will do well in secondary water, they tolerate urban pollution and require little maintenance.
