Description
The only member of its family it has no true roots. It forms dense floating mats of feathery leaves. It is generally left to float or weighted and sunk to the bottom of the pond. This plant is very useful in providing oxygen and clarifiying the water. It is usally sold bare root or in weighted clumps and has no real use for a pot. Overwinters in zone 5 if allowed to sink to the bottom of the pond.
