What does Milorganite do? Milorganite is an all-purpose slow-release nitrogen fertilizer that safely feeds your lawn, roses, flowers, vegetables, shrubs, and trees for up to 8-10 weeks after application.

Milorganite® Will NOT Burn Your Lawn or Plants

You don’t have to worry about streaks, stripes, or accidentally burning your lawn when you use Milorganite! It contains virtually no salts, so it won’t burn your lawn, trees, shrubs, or plants, even in the hottest temperatures or driest conditions. Milorganite will not burn tender seedlings and can be used as a carrier when spreading grass seed. You don’t have to water Milorganite in; it will stay in the soil, ready to work when moisture becomes available.

Milorganite® Helps Green Your Lawn

Milorganite's iron greens without staining. Grass needs iron for the long-lasting, deep, vibrant green lawn you want. Milorganite delivers organically complex iron throughout the feeding period and won’t stain concrete, unlike iron salts in some synthetic fertilizers.

Milorganite® is a Slow-Release Fertilizer

Milorganite’s slow-release formula provides nitrogen and other nutrients for up to 8-10 weeks after application. This provides even growth and better root development over a longer period of time instead of a sudden growth spurt and excessive grass clippings. Remember: the best defense against weeds is a healthy lawn!

Slow-release is also good for the environment; Milorganite’s nutrients are released at a rate that plants can use, making it less likely to leach into groundwater.

Slow-release is good for gardens, too. The slow-release nitrogen feeds plants evenly and gradually and doesn’t interfere with flowering or fruit development. Milorganite encourages strong root development, which helps result in greater yields and more vegetables and fruits for you to enjoy!
