Mimosa or Silk Tree

Albizia julibrissin

Description

Also known as 'Persian Silk Tree', the 'Mimosa' or 'Silk' tree is prized for its ornamental value due to its fragrant, fluffy pink flowers that bloom from May to July. Fruits appear from June through September. No fall color.

Another unusual characteristic is that the fern-like leaves fold at night or when touched. It is a fast-growing, short-lived, small-to-medium size deciduous tree.
