Ornamental Millet

Pennisetum glaucum

Description

Ornamental millet is often used as a focal point in containers and makes a stunning accent plant for your garden. The purple corn-like stalks and leaves are topped with 8 to 12 inch long purple plumes. The seed spikes of ornamental millet plants may be left on the plant to provide food for birds as they ripen, as millet is a popular grain used in birdseed mixes. Zones 10-11
