Peace lilly

Spathiphyllum spp.

Description

Spathiphyllum spp. (Peace lilly) A lush, deep green house plant with beautiful white flowers. The peace lily wants her soil to stay moist and her leaves will start to wilt when she is ready for another drink.  You can place her in either an east or north facing window but avoid direct southern or western light, to avoid leaf burn.  With southern or western light just pull her several feet away from the window. She can tolerate lower light conditions but will produce blooms given more light.  The peace lilly can be sensitive to the chemicals found in tap water and fertilizers. For this reason you can either water the plant with distilled water, or occasionally flush the soil to removes excess salts.
