Redbud, Traveller
Cercis canadensis var. texensis 'Traveller'
Description
This small weeping redbud is a beautiful pendulous variety of the Texas redbud. Branches grow downward at 45 degrees, creating broad, spreading crown up to 12 feet across. Vibrant fuchsia-pink blossoms cover the bare stems in the spring, followed by pod that turn red and then brown by fall. Like all redbuds, the leaves are heart-shaped and glossy, starting off as a reddish color in spring and turning green, then yellow, orange and copper in fall. Perfect as a lawn or slope specimen, or at the back of a shrub bed.- Botanical Name
