Water Clover

Marsilea mutica

Description

This Aquatic fern has highly ornamental foliage. Its beautiful four leaf clover like leaves are two toned green with reddish brown mottling. When planted in the shallows the foliage will mound up out of the water but when planted  deeper  the leaves float gracefully on the waters surface much like the leaves of a water lily. The leaves are also  favorite landing pads for thirsty honey bees. Grow in full sun to full shade in water 1'' to 18'' deep. Zone 5
